Black Isle Berries is located at Ryefield Farm, Tore, which is within easy travelling distance of both Inverness and Dingwall. Ryefield extends to about 17 acres and we grow a range of soft fruits, apples, plums and tomatoes. We also grow a range of vegetables elsewhere on the Black Isle. There is a small shop located on the farm selling our produce and a selection of other locally produced products such as beef eggs and honey. We press our own apples in September and October to produce a really delicious apple juice; some is mixed with juice from our own raspberries and is an amazing combination.
During the summer we do pick your own fruit. We now grow the majority of our strawberry crop on a table-top system in Spanish tunnels, which means no sore backs from bending whilst picking AND you can stay dry if it is raining!
In 2012 we are diversifying and are in the process of building a small bunkhouse on the footprint of a redundant farm shed. This will be aimed at the outdoor enthusiast market and we are hoping to have it up and running before the end of the year.
